USA IMPORTS/EXPORTS LOS ANGELES PORT – CLEAN TRUCK FEE BEING INTRODUCED BY LA PORT AUTHORITY

Nov 03

As previously advised this fee has now been confirmed as taking effect on 1st November 2008. To recap the Port of Los Angeles is introducing this “Clean Truck Fee” which will be US$ 35 per 20ft / US$ 70 per 40ft cntr.

It will be charged on ALL cntrs being delivered or picked up from the LA port by truck.

This “clean truck fee” is being levied by the ports as part of their plan to reduce all old trucks operating out of the port with newer cleaner more environmentally friendly vehicles. Unfortunately this charge is non negotiable and everyone will pay it when sending cntrs through the LA port as a direct result of the Port of Longbeach is charging a “Clean Truck Fee” programme on all cntrs being trucked to the LA pier (including FAK groupage boxes), Mondiale/Brennan will be introducing a LCL Clean Truck Fee of US$ 3.00 per w/m. If you have any questions regarding this please call John Sargent or Nicki Ridgers.

Note: this Clean Truck Fee Charge is only applicable to cargo that has a cargo place of receipt - CFS Los Angeles / Longbeach. In other words cargo from other outlaying receiving hubs such as Seattle / San Francisco / Houston / Chicago etc the charge will not be applicable.
