Pallets for LCL Cargo

Friday, 2 October 2009

A reminder in regards to the return of empty pallets, as all depots are tightening up on the one for one supply of pallets during this busy period.

If your import cargo is not supplied to our packing depot on pallets and is subsequently loaded & out turned loose from our groupage containers, our unpack depot load goods onto pallets upon devan for stowage and release purposes.

We operate on a pallet swap basis with our unpack depots & therefore we must supply an empty pallet back to them for every one released.

This is currently done on a good will basis in order to facilitate the release of freight & avoid the time consuming process of hand loading on and off the trucks.

However we are now finding that fewer and fewer pallets are being returned.

This is at considerable cost to the depots who need to purchase pallets in order to cover this shortfall.

We therefore ask that you please ensure that empty pallets are made available for your carrier to uplift and return to the unpack depots to avoid the possibility of additional charges being introduced.

If you have empty pallets on hand, please contact your nominated carrier or our Mondiale LCL Despatch team on 09 256 4111 or mondlcldesp@mondiale.co.nz. The pallets will be uplifted by our trucks free of charge.
