Import Sea: Change in Nth Europe and UK LCL Oceanfreight & BAF Rate Structure

Oct 05

To date Mondiale has charged all LCL oceanfreight / BAF ex North Europe / UK in US currency.
Given as we almost exclusively use shipping lines who charge us in Euro's, we will be changing all rates to this currency from 1st October.
Further to this we will also change the rate structure to correctly reflect the actual container BAF that we are paying the specific shipping line we are using.
You will receive an updated rate schedule in the near future, but to clarify how we are calculating your new Euro rate we will be applying the following formula :

1) Add both your oceanfreight and current BAF rate together to obtain an "all-in" rate per m3
2) Divide this by 1.40. This will give you your "all-in" EUR rate per m3.
3) EUR 19.00 per m3 is the BAF amount within that "all-in" rate. The balance is your EUR oceanfreight rate.

If you have any queries regarding the calculation of your EUR rate please contact either Chris Steenson or Bryan Hutson.

(*Note - there is a GRI EUR 3.00 per w/m and a BAF increase of EUR 1.00 per w/m from 1st Oct)
