Change in Mediterranean LCL Oceanfreight & BAF rate structure

Monday, 5 October 2009

The LCL rate structure from Med ports in Spain and Italy will remain in USDs. However the service we are now using is HAMBURG SUD - a weekly service transhipping through the Central American port of Cartagena.

This is currently the quickest and most cost effective service for our consolidated (LCL) containers from Italy and Spain.

The "all-in" rate (Rate inclusive of both oceanfreight and BAF) will remain unchanged from what your current rate is however the way it is made up will be different.

Essentially the BAF component will be USD 9.00 per m3 more than what your current BAF rate is BUT your oceanfreight rate will be USD 9.00 per m3 less. This will take affect from 1st October.

If you have any queries regarding the calculation of your new USD rate please contact either Chris Steenson or Bryan Hutson
