USA / Canada to New Zealand Trade

Dec 02

Further to our recent notice in early November, please be advised that all the direct carriers off the East & West Coast USA/Canada to NZ have announced a General Rate Increase of US$ 150 per TEU effective from the 1st of December 2009. As a result of the container rates going up Mondiale / Brennan have no choice but to increase the LCL rates accordingly ex the USA to NZ. The increase will be US$ 6 per w/m (effective 1st Dec) ex the USA only. Canadian LCL rates will not be increasing at this time. As you can see this is purely a cost recover exercise.

On the 15th of December the USA EFAF will be increasing from USD 540 to USD 644 per TEU. This will affect all FCL quotations. As a result of the EFAF going up Brennan/Mondiale will be increasing our oceanrate levels by USD 4 per w/m effective all sailings from the 15th of December onwards (as our BAF is rolled into the oceanfreight). Brennan/Mondiale will continue to monitor the EFAF and should the EFAF go up or down we will adjust the LCL ocean rates up or down accordingly.
