USA LCL service
After intervention from US Secretary of Labor, the West Coast Unions and Port Authority reached a tentative agreement on Friday 20th February, and port teams were expected to resume working at normal speed with additional shifts from Sunday 22nd February.
Please note that the severe congestion and backlog at West Coast ports is expected to take anything from two to four months to clear, and vessels and shipments will continue to be delayed in the interim. Mondiale will continue to monitor vessel departures daily, and will keep customers updated accordingly. FCL bookings are currently heavily overbooked, with increased pressure on East Coast sailings also.
Mondiale are pleased to advise that effective immediately mid-west and south-east/US gulf cargo will be re-routed via the East Coast temporarily, in an effort to avoid West Coast congestion, minimise delays and disruption to your cargo.
All cargo receipted in below depots for Auckland and Wellington will now load to exit from East Coast ports. Lyttelton cargo will continue to move via the West Coast for most origins. Please note this is temporary and will be in place until West Coast congestion clears. There will be no surcharge for this routing, and your standard contract rates will apply.
Chicago / Cleveland / Columbus / Cincinnati / Detroit Will now load ex-Charleston port
Houston / Dallas / New Orleans Will now load ex-Charleston port (via Atlanta, GA depot)
New York / Philadelphia / Boston / Baltimore Will continue to load ex-Philadelphia port
Miami / Atlanta / Charleston / Charlotte Will continue to load ex-Charleston port
Los Angeles / San Francisco / Portland / Seattle Will continue to load ex-Los Angeles port
East Coast options are available, with various surcharges - please contact Mondiale for further information.
We will monitor congestion backlog, and continue to assess the situation with our USA partners.
