USA (Midwest) to NZ – introduction of a Congestion Surcharge

Mar 15

We have been advised by our agents Brennan Interntional that the USA Midwest (especially Chicago) has been experiencing unprecedented challenges concerning rail congestion, delays, and drayage capacity. Increased demand, asset shortages, driver constraints and severe weather conditions have quickly driven up costs.

There are no quick or easy solutions to these challenges, and as a result we have taken on higher costs as a means to continue to service your cargo and to meet the high level of service that we expect to provide. With these considerations, Brennan are implementing a Congestion Surcharge ex the below depots only as outlined below;

Congestion Surcharge US$ 4 per w/m effective cargo gated in after 12th April

  • Chicago
  • Cincinnati
  • Cleveland
  • Columbus
  • Detroit
  • Indianapolis
  • Minneapolis
