10 September 2018 - Operational UpdateFergusson Terminal Operations Recommencement Update
We hope that you have had a good weekend.
We are pleased to advise that operations resumed on Saturday morning as intended however productivity has been slower due to the restart, Straddle driver cautiousness and yard congestion .
We are operating with 4 cranes today and 3 overnight and then a 5 crane complement tomorrow. There will be 2 vessels operating on the berth each day through out until Saturday 16th September so we will continue to operate with a suspended berth window and then review the situation at the end of this week.
Overall the yard is very full with 3 large, mainly discharge vessels back to back from Sunday evening through to Thursday. Road and rail priority will remain for landed and cleared FCL import containers, active reefers and hazardous containers and we will this week continue to manage with limited VBS slots allocated to the general pool. Carriers please continue to work through the Transport Coordinators for specific import pickups on longstanding or reefer/hazardous units and specific export containers against nominated vessels as per the Operational update details below. Carriers will be required to specify the container numbers for the bookings required because we have still seen some Carriers delivering exports for vessels well in advance of those yet to arrive which just fills the yard up with containers that are not a priority.
Export empties and de-hires will be managed through the On Dock Link/Empty Depot with Export empty receivals managed to specific vessel voyages. Lines are to liaise closely with Keith Morrison regarding agreed delivery plans.
Whilst we are back to full operations there is of course a backlog to clear along with a very full yard so this week we will continue to maintain a tight control over the ship-side and gate operations to prioritise import and export movements.
I’ll provide a further update on Wednesday of this week, however we will also ensure that a daily operational update with more specific details is sent for the remainder of this week.

Import Demurrage Last Free Times have been continuously reviewed for the past 2 weeks, however starting from BOMAR ROSSI KE833A import demurrage will apply as per the Ports of Auckland Standard Terms and Conditions. Detailed information about allowable free time and demurrage rates can be found on our web-site.
For the following vessels the Last Free Time will be 0600 Wednesday 12 September (applies to full dry none DG containers only):

Please note that for DG Import containers Hazardous Storage calculation have resumed from 0800 hours Saturday 8 September. For Import reefer containers demurrage and Power & Monitoring charges have resumed from 0600 hours Sunday 9 September.
VBS bookings continue to be managed based on the operational capacity throughout the day and night. Our Gate Ops team is working with trucking companies and managing priority bookings based on the vessel schedule. We ask that Carriers provide container numbers for the bookings required when sending their request through to the Driver Assist Team.
For the next 24 hours priority will be given only to export containers for:
We will start receiving Export containers for the following vessels from 0700 hours Tuesday 11 September:
We request rail users refrain from sending any Export Containers that are not for the above mentioned vessels. Containers that are booked to load later vessels will not be unloaded off the train and will be returned.
For Imports focus remains on DG containers, active reefers and containers that have been discharged and cleared off the vessels last week. If you have a DG or reefer import container that has no pending clearances, please URGENTLY contact Driver Assist Team for assistance.
Due to the space restrictions in the yard we will manage receival of Empty Export containers directly with the shipping lines. The On Dock Link facility remains open for de-hire of Empties.
