USA to New Zealand – Origin Congestion Surcharge Increase

The chronic congestion at the ports, container terminals and rail yards across the USA continue to have a major impact on the supply chain. The reason for congestion include the Covid pandemic, labour shortages, truck power shortages, surges of import volumes, vessel berthing delays, equipment shortages and a number of other factors.

Please be advised that due to these continued challenges in moving cargo via USA ports (Los Angeles, Philadelphia and Charleston) our US agents (Brennan Int’l) will be increasing the Origin Port Congestion Surcharge on all cargo moving ex USA to New Zealand as below. This is a temporary charge and we will keep you updated of when it will no longer be applicable.

Current surcharge         USD 5.00 per w|m
Updated surcharge        USD 8.00 per w|m

This increase will be applied to all cargo received on|after 18th March 2021 for all USA to NZ destinations.
